NGE @ BGHSBuffalo Grove High School offers a wide range of career pathways including engineering, manufacturing and computer science. Project Lead the Way (PLTW) is a national engineering curriculum that prepares students to be innovative and productive leaders in STEM and to make meaningful, pioneering contributions to our world. Buffalo Grove High School has adopted the PLTW curriculum and currently offers four college-credit bearing PLTW courses. Students work in a state-of-the-art prototyping laboratory while working to achieve industry certifications in safety and machine programming and operation.
The Next Generation of Engineers Program (NGE) is a program for sixth, seventh, and eighth grade students to work with faculty, fellow students and the facilities prior to entering their freshman year. It focuses on showing not telling—students how engineers use math and science to solve engineering problems. This program introduces students to opportunities and career paths offered at BGHS. The NGE courses at Buffalo Grove High School are open to middle school students who live within the attendance boundaries of Buffalo Grove High School. Courses are scheduled throughout the school year after school one day per week. They are taught by faculty members from Buffalo Grove High School. After registering you will receive a confirmation email regarding acceptance into the class. Students will need to arrive at BGHS between 3:45-3:55 through door 1. A light snack will be provided while we wait for everyone to arrive. Pick up will be outside of door 6 at 6:00PM.
